at that moment everyone in the fucking house was listening to jim drop pearls on whatever subject the panel was debating. you can tell he is the “papi” of VII.. and rightly so. there is a wisdom that only time can bring which eminanted from every word he shared with us all.

its official.. somewhere nested in the epidermal layer of my right palm is a piece of that mother fucker.

    that conference must have been awesome. Hope they do one in the UK sometime soon.Would be awesome.

    I just started a three year photojournalism course in Swansea, Wales, and I’m also dreaming about becoming some sort of photojournalist someday. (I’ll give it 5-10 years. then i’ll go and work at McDonnie’s. )

    Nachtwey is definitely one my heroes as well, although one of our course leaders here didn’t seem to appreciate my admiration towards him all that much. We all had to show images we were really impressed about, and I showed some of Nachtwey’s. The lecturer seemed to think some of his work as aestheticizing (i believe that was the word) horror, which he objected to, and he went on to talk about war/conflict photography as some sort of violent pornography by macho stereotypes, which he thinks does not qualify as proper photojournalism. What does he know.
